Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I sign up for a course?
A: Send an email to info@cprsaveslives.ca, or call 613-791-1869 to recieve a reply as soon as possible about available times for your course to take place!

Q: Does CPR Saves Lives run public courses that I can register for?
A: At the moment, no. It is quite costly to rent a recreation center or office space. For now, CPR Saves Lives only offers courses that take place at your residence, place of work, or school.

Q: I don't know how many people are going to be in my course with me- can I still book one?
A: Absolutely! As long as there is satisfactory room for the course to take place, the number of participants does not need to be known until the day before the course begins. Payment will in this case be given before the course begins.

Q: What is the maximum number of participants that I can have in my course?
A: In general, one instructor can teach 12 participants. However, since there are a limited number of manikins, the largest number of participants is 24.

Q: I have a large group of people who wish to take a course together- is there a discounted rate?
A: Please see our "Prices" page to view any current promotional discounts! If you have a very large group, please email us at info@cprsaveslives.ca or call at 613-791-1869 during the hours of 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. for more information.

Q: Do I have to have a group to run a course?
A: No, courses can be run with as little as one participant, or as many as 24.

Q: How do CPR Saves Lives' prices compare to those at St. John's Ambulance?
A: In most cases, except in some private lessons, CPR Saves Lives is the cheaper option.

Q:What kind of equipment does CPR Saves Lives have access to?
A: CPR Saves Lives owns 8 adult/child CPR Prompt manikins, and 7 infant CPR Prompt manikins. We have a full practice first aid kit, as well as pocket masks (which are cleaned and sanitized after each use) and first aid manuals.

Q: How do I get larger class sizes- can you find me a class?
A:To get a larger class size, you can ask around your community, work, or family and friends to see who else would like to take a course with you. CPR Saves Lives does not currently hold classes that are open to public registration.

Q: How can I pay for my course?
A: Payment can be made through cheque or cash, and must be made prior to the class beginning. You will recieve a reciept.

Q: Will I recieve certification for my course?
A: As long as you meet the requirements for the course, you will be issued certification, unless you have stated that you are not interested in obtaining a certification card. CPR-A, CPR-B, and CPR-C candidates will be given the appropriate permanent certification card upon the end of the course. Standard First aid and CPR-C certification or recertification, as well as Emergency First Aid and CPR "B" certification candidates will be given a temporary card that is valid for 90 days. They will then recieve a permanent certification card in the mail issued by the Lifesaving Society.
